3rd of many...

On Tuesday the 23rd of December, we went to San Francisco to see the new California Academy of Sciences right in the Golden Gate Park. It's been open for about 6 months, I think. It kinda seemed like a modern hippy museum at certain points, like when they talked about global warming, evolution, preserving wild life, etc. We learned a lot though. There was an albino crocodile. We had seen one before at the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake, but it was still pretty cool. There was a ton of stuff to see, and we had a great time with everyone that went, including the time waiting in line (about an hour) to get into the museum even having tickets already. Here are just some pictures from our trip:
Aren't we such a cute couple? So cute that we thought you wouldn't want to see our faces or what color our clothes are. This is still an interesting picture though, eh? Without us in the way, this is what you would be seeing. A ton of large, vibrantly colored fish swimming among rocks and corals and all kinds of intricately shaped underwater formations. This is my nephew Parker looking at the same thing. He is a well-behaved almost 3 year-old who loved to climb all over stuff. He seemed to have an enjoyable time. This is me and Lillie, walking up the ramp within the rainforest enclosure with Lillie's older cousin Piper, who was such a good help and loved to play with Lillie, as well us her "AntAnna".Us, again, looking into some of the glass cases where all the rainforests creatures reside.Lillie was amazed at the butterflies that were able to fly around freely within the large rainforest enclosure. Here we are looking at one closely as it landed on a nearby flower.A closer look.
So that was what we did for most of the day. When we finished at the museum, we drove to Hometown Buffet and had all we could eat as a large group. To finish off our meal, many of us enjoyed ice cream cones. Here is Piper and Parker loving the ice cream.
Here is Lillie with a chocolate milk mustache. She guzzled a bunch of it and got it all over herself, even with help from mom and dad. She really liked the food and especially enjoyed the chicken and dumplings, which she had never had before. It was a great meal.We had a great time, then drove home. We put Lillie right to bed and then had some "grown-up" time playing Wii until abour 2am. We are such dorks. We had a great time though with John and Ed playing some darts and other games on the Wii. That's it for this day. The rest will come later.
