Just a little up-date on new baby Sam. I wanted to compare pictures of Lillie and Sam both at a week old. I thought these pictures show how much they look like each other.

Sam does have a lot more hair than Lillie did, but Lillie's was dark brown and Sam (though it's hard to tell from the picture) is dark red/brownish colored.

We got a cute picture of Sam smiling. Isn't he cute. If you notice he is a little yellow. Leaving the hospital last Wednesday Sam's bilirubin was very low, at a 5. On Friday Mike and I noticed he was a little yellow so we just wanted to watch it since it was so low just a few days before. Then on Saturday his beautiful eyes were yellow and there was no doubt about his skin being yellow too. So we took him to the pediatrician who ordered a blood test. His bilirubin had shot up to 14.7. The doctor reassured us that there wasn't much to worry about unless the levels were about 20 and he was showing clinical symptoms. So we had another test on Sunday and it was at 15.1. The doctor decided it was leveling off so we just fed him a bit more often and put him in the Sunlight a little bit on Monday. Then on Tuesday, after another test, it had dropped down to 11.5. They call it Breastfeeding Jaundice apparently and can occur after the mother's milk has come in. There wasn't much to worry about and we made it through. Sam is looking much better and is doing great.
