Lillie on your 5th Bithday

Lillie today was your birthday. You looked beautiful. I love you so very much. You still love the color pink. You love Hello Kitty. Your favorite food is fruits and vegetables and you will eat most of them. You love to draw and are getting better at it every day. Sometimes it surprises me how well you can draw.  You are in the transitional kindergarten class at school and you love it so much. At the parent teacher conference your teacher only had good things to say about you. She said you are a leader and very helpful. You think of everyone else and you are kind to everyone. She also said you love to help and she loves to have you come and help because you are so good are everything. She said you are eager to learn. You learn thinks quickly and want to move on to the next thing as soon as you have mastered a concept. I have known these things about you your whole life and it is nice to have someone else recognize these things too. You love to pick out your own outfits and get dressed before you come out every morning. You become more and more independent every day, but you will love to have a cuddle with your mom and dad. You look at your piers and what they can do and if you can’t do it at the time you take on the challenge and practice until you can do it too. An Example of this is you had a friend just a little older then you back in April who could pump on the swing herself. With is a few days of practice you had mastered it too. You have many chores around the house and your do them eagerly and love to help out. This past summer you learned to swim in our backyard. You eagerness to learn made it easy to  teach you and you are a little fish you can swim  all the way across our 28 ft pool with such grace. You can also dive down to the bottom which is 8 ft deep. I don’t worry about you much in the pool and you stopped wearing a life jacket about mid July. You have adapted well to our move to California. You have made friends with the little girls in the neighborhood. They, along with the children at school love you and are excited to play with you. You are a unique blend of kindness, intelligence, beauty, and fun that just seem to draw other kids to you. You can count to over 100 and you love to show whoever will listen. You have made great progress in reading and know many sight words. You know can brush your won teeth, get your own jammies on and pretty much get yourself to bed but you will need mom or dad to tell/read you a story and sing you  song.
