100th Post!

So we aren't quite sure what the protocol is, but for our 100th post, we are just going to tell how things have been going, like we normally do. I hope nobody is offended because we'll just tell you to get over it. =) Maybe when we're feeling up to it, we'll show a little more enthousiasm.

I have been back in school now for two weeks and just took my first Pharmocology exam on Friday. It was fun. I am loving my classes so far. They seem to be coming at me a little faster than last year though. It's keeping me pretty busy, as expected. Two nights before my exam, Lillie got really sick. Anna had gone to get some insurance paperwork taken care of at the county office a couple days before and there was a family of four kids, with two of them who seemed to be really sick and throwing up. Without thinking about it, Anna let Lillie play with her new friends to keep them entertained. On Wednesday night, Lillie started throwing up at about 10pm while I was away playing basketball. Anna called me and told me to come home right away. The next 12 or so hours were full of paper towels and soaked clothes and hair. Lillie couldn't stop throwing up and didn't want to drink anything we tried to give to her until about 5am. Having class the next day, I went to bed at about midnight and Anna stayed up cleaning Lillie until about 6am. It then hit her how exhausted and pregnant she was, so she got me up and went to bed. I stayed with Lillie for the next few hours until she was drinking more stuff and was only thowing up every half hour or so. We all went back to bed again until I had to go to class. The rest of the day and the next couple days, Lillie had diarrhea and only threw up a few more times.

Then, on Friday morning, right after I finished my exam, my stomach started feeling a little upset and I got a call from Anna telling me she had started throwing up. When I got home, I started throwing up as well. We both went through the same thing that Lillie did for the rest of the day and had a tough time taking care of stuff since we had no energy at all and spent alot of time in the bathroom or lying down. Now, it's Sunday and we are still recovering. We were able to start eating small regular foods yesterday and seem to almost have a regular appetite again. Luckily, we still have one more day of no school for us all to fully recover.

If there is anything to be grateful for, it's the fact that it happened at such an opportune time. Right after an exam, on a three day weekend where we can all be together and recover. We are so glad it didn't happen at some other time when it could have been so much more stressful. It was definitely not enjoyable, but it could have been worse.

On a different note, I'll just post a few pictures and explain some of the other stuff that we've experienced lately. Hope you enjoy:

These first two pictures are at the stream that runs right next to our house. It's such a beautiful area to live in and we love it so far. We decided to go for a little walk a couple months ago right after moving in and explore near the stream. We found a little crawdad after poking around in the water, and with my experience in the Sacramento and American Rivers, I caught it with ease and showed it to Lillie. She thought it was fascinating, but seemed to get kinda bored of it pretty quickly. It was probably more fun for me, reminding me of fishing with friends and boy scouts.

We go to the public library all the time and get kids videos for Lillie to watch. We got a Disney video about a dog named Spot based on a kids book. Lillie watched it all the time until we had to bring it back to the library. In the video, Spot does all kinds of things that humans do, and one of them was take his umbrella around and sing and dance with it. So, Lillie has picked up on it and decided to do that same thing at our place. Here she is in the kitchen.

Another thing she picked up on was when Spot was playing cowboy and riding a broom around like a horse. We had no idea that Lillie really got what was going on until she found the broom in the closet one day and started riding around on it like a horse. We thought it was the cutest thing and snapped a couple pictures, but they aren't uploading at the moment, so we'll have to post them another time. Check back for them later.

These next couple are just some fun things that Lillie has been doing. We like to go for walks and Lillie has just been kickin back in the stroller and putting her feet up. It's a little blurry because our camera is broken and we have to take all our pictures with our cell phone, but you can somewhat tell how it looks.

This next one is at the grocery store. They have "shopper in training" carts that Lillie loves to push around. She goes all over and runs into all kinds of stuff almost knocking over all the displays because she gets so excited and then when she sees a balloon, she'll stop and point and say "Elmo" or "pun bob" (spongebob) until we get the balloon and put it on her cart. Then she'll move along until the next balloon. She has a great time at the grocery store, but we have to keep an eye on her. Well, that's all we have time for now. There's still some other updating that will have to wait so stay tuned.
