Turkey trot for tots

These are our new additions to our family. A family in their fourth year of med school preparing for their upcoming move at the end of the year gave us a 20 gallon fish tank, filter and a few other accessories. Thanks Linzie. For FHE last week we had a lesson on how Heavenly Father and Jesus made fish and then we went to the pet store and got these five little guys. We have been watching Scrubs together on what little free time Mike has this semester, and we named them after characters from the show. Sadly, Elliot and Turk have moved on to a better place already, but these fish don't have a very long life expectancy good thing there were only 23 cents, cheap to replace. Lillie loves them. The first thing she does in the morning is look at me and say "feed the fish" with big eyes. We have them in the kitchen and Lillie will just stand there talking to them while I am cooking and cleaning. This girl really is an animal lover.

We have taken Lillie to the temple before, but we spent most of the time at the Visitor's Center. This time, we wanted her to be able to touch the walls of the temple and see it up close, so we took her this past Saturday. She just kept saying "WOW BIGGY," She also loved the water fountain in the front. It was such a fun experience.
Today we took our little bug to the 1st Annual Kid's Turkey Trot. I was going to take Lillie alone because Mike had an exam this morning. He called about 35 minutes after it started and said he was done. I was amazed and so happy he got to come with us. It was just for little kids. It seemed the majority of the kids were two or three with a few younger and older.

It was basically a little race maybe 25 yards or so. I love the little tags they gave the kids. Lillie was #19.

They separated the kids into age groups. Lillie will be two in a week so I put her with the twos. She already saw two other groups go ahead of her's and wasn't all that interested. Then when they lined up her group, as you can see in the picture, she was distracted by her tag and something off in the distance while all the other kids had their eyes on the prize. Then they said go and all the kids started to run. Lillie looked at Mike and me like "what are they doing" and just stood there, it was so cute. Then after her slow start she had so much fun running with all the other kids. I love to watch her run by the way, love it. After a while she wanted to hold Dad's hand but she made it to the end. They all had a Capri Sun waiting for them at the end.

After that they had a little cupcake walk, face painting and other fun activities, but all Lillie wanted to do was have her Daddy push her on the swing.

As you can see from the above pictures it was a pretty rainy day today. That made it a very muddy day also. A few other people had slipped and fell earlier but mostly caught themselves before any major damage was done. When we were about to go I was walking over to Mike and Lillie on the slides at the play area then all of a sudden I wasn't walking anymore I was looking at the gray clouds above me realizing I was flat on my back. It freaked out a few people that know I'm preggers to see me fall but it was on a little hill so it was more of a slide than a fall and I didn't get hurt at all, but my clothes were caked in mud.
