Lillie and I went to the grocery store on Thursday, because this is our normal day to go shopping. I had heard there was a storm coming but in my super pregnant brain I really didn't think it would affect grocery shopping. When we finally found a parking space we got into the store only to find it was JAM-PACKED and there were a lot of items completely sold out.
The snow started at probably around 11am on Friday. Luckily it wasn't too bad by the time Mike was finished with school by 3pm. Then the snow didn't stop until about 10pm on Saturday. In that time close to 26 inches of snow hit the Vienna area. DC only got about 18 inches. The last recorded snow fall that was close to this in the area was in 1922 ( it was actually more though). Our Church was canceled along with EVERYTHING else. Some people lost power and heating, we are so grateful we were not one of them. We are also very grateful I didn't go into labor during this storm, we would have never made it to the hospital.
But he still has a smile on his face.
Here is Mike's big "helper" with her shovel (it's a dust pan if you can't tell).
After getting more snow onto Mike's freshly shoveled pathways than out of the way, Lillie got a little bored and ventured out over the top of the snow. She is so light she barley sank in (whereas the snow came up to my knees when I went out to get her.) Then....
She buried her lower half. Then...
She laid down and giggled.

School as been canceled for Mike tomorrow YAY!! It has been quite the adventure to have so much snow at one time. Also, we were able to use some of our income tax return to buy a Wii for Mike's birthday this month. What a perfect time to be stuck inside and play with our new toy.
Here's a picture from during the storm. Notice our car and the huge pile of snow that the plow decided to place nicely behind it. That was 'fun' for Mike to dig out.

Thanks for the update. I was wondering about you today and hoping you didn't lose your power. Looks like Lillie had blast. Could she be any cuter?
