Grandpa Gardner came to visit from April 15-19. For some reason, I didn't take any pictures. So I taught Grandpa G. over the phone how to send pictures via email. There aren't many pix with him in it because he is behind the camera but we wanted to document his visit all the same. I am working on my movie making skills so I put them all together in a movie and what the pix are all about is in the text below.
He came for a fun day called "A Day in the Life of a Medical Student." Family and friends are invited to come and have a day some what like a med student. He arrived late Friday night. Saturday was the event and it went on all day. We were able to go to the lunch for the event with the whole family at the Sequoia Restaurant in Georgetown by the Potomac River. It was a gourmet meal with a beautiful view. Grandpa snagged some balloons there for the kiddos and there were free teddy bears with surgical masks and scrubs that he also gave to them. They loved it. On the way back from lunch is when our tire went crazy. Then Grandpa took us out for dinner for our first Thai experience. PS THAI FOOD IS AWESOME!!!!! Sunday, Mike had to work, so Grandpa met up with me and the kids on Sunday morning to go to church. (He was staying in a little hotel nearby). Then after we got home we headed into DC to visit Mikey at the GW hospital. He was a little busy and didn't have much time for us but it was so fun to come and see him. We have a few pictures of us waiting in the student lounge for him in between cases. Monday Grandpa G. spent the day at Mt. Vernon while me and the kids caught up on some rest. (Sam had not napped all weekend.) Then Monday night we went bowling. It was so much fun and the kids really liked it. Lillie is such a pro with it kids style and Sam carried his balloon acting like it was a bowling ball. The kids and I said our good-byes that night then Mike had one last lunch with Grandpa on Tuesday. Thanks for coming Grandpa Gardner we all had a great time!
