Cox Farms and Halloween Day

We have been trying to make it to Cox Farms all month. With Mike getting up well before the crack of dawn and coming home with just a few hours until it closed we hadn't made it until its final day, Halloween. There was a much bigger crowd than we anticipated but I guess a lot of schools had field trips for Halloween. Even with the big crowd we still had an awesome time. Really, it was so fun to go for Halloween. We got there around 11am and didn't leave until after 3pm. 

We started off with the little goat petting area. I love watching my kids chase after the goats and Sammy was so gentle as he would go over and pet them. 

 We went down a few slides a few times and the kids were loving it. Then we went to the little corn maze, the Cornundrum. Within the maze there were several little places like a crooked/slanting house, a maze of doors, a haunted school bus and a few other things. Every time we got out of one little Sam would put his hands above his head and say "Yaaay!" So cute... After that we had lunch and kept on going.

 This was another kiddie area with a ginger bread house. Lillie walked around pretending to eat all the candy it was so cute. Sammy saw a cute cut out of Blue's Clues and for the first time said "boos" as he ran to it so excited.

 Sam thinks it is so fun to go down the slide this way and laughed every time one of the workers would tell him not to do it. He is so mischievous sometimes.

 Huge pig, plus many more fun farm animals all through out the farm.

 Then on to the hayride around the park. I love this hayride. There are all these wood cut-outs all along the path of fun preschool characters like Sesame Street, Disney, Nick Jr... The kids loved it. The hayride goes around a large pond, then through several deep streams and at the end it goes through a barn that is a little dark and spooky but it ended fun and happy with a bunch of bubbles. Sam had big eyes the whole time and held very still as he watched everything go by and felt the bounceyness of the hay ride. He seems to really enjoy it. LOVE IT.

 This is a big smile on Sam's face accompanied by a big laugh. He wouldn't hold still otherwise. hehe.

This is one of my favorite things around this area. We will really miss it next year if we end up elsewhere.

Then we went Trick-or-Treating in our little area for about two hours.Sam got the route down very quickly and would go from door to door, knock and say tweet tweet and after they gave him the candy he would say aween. Really Sam doesn't say much so the fact that he picked up on this so fast really shows what lengths this kid will go to for candy. Lillie got so many comments on her hair and she was so proud of it. She was so cute and lead her brother in the ways of Trick-or-Treating like a pro. Just a little after dark we headed to Chipotle for $2 burritos if you come in with a costume. YEAH!!! They were awesomely delicious (and cheap).

I really think this is one of my all time favorite Halloween seasons.  AWESOME. Our kids make things so much fun and we love watching them enjoy all the fun things in this world.
