The Real Thanksgiving

We had a short but great visit to Utah for the Thanksgiving Holiday. I had class until late Tuesday night and then I came home and we watched House as we finished packing our bags. We left early Wednesday morning for our flight, which took us to Denver, then to Salt Lake. That evening we had our first round of Thanksgiving dinner with Anna's family at her brother Andrew's home in Salt Lake. Here are a few pictures from that evening. The first one is some of Anna's family (Dad(in back), brother(yellow shirt), sister-in-law(pink shirt), niece(sucking thumb) and nephew(red shirt)) getting their food.
This is Anna's sisters Emily(brown hair) and Liz(blonde) taking their turn getting food.
After the meal, all of the females left to go see the new Twilight movie, and left the men at home with most of the little kids. What an adventure that was. Since there is a two hour difference from DC to Utah, it was already way past Lillie's bedtime when Anna left for the movies. Plus, with all the other kids running around, it was pretty noisy and Lillie was in an unusual place with a pack 'n' play instead of a nice comfy crib with a mattress. Needless to say, she didn't go to sleep very easily, and when she did, she woke up 45 minutes later screaming and wouldn't calm down until Anna got home much later. Eventually, the day was over and we got up the next day and drove to Gunnison, where my grandparents live. We had our traditional Frandsen family soccer game with cousins, uncles, siblings and whoever else wanted to join. It was great. Then we had a meal and mingling for the rest of the day. We forgot to pull out the camera, so no pictures. We got to see a bunch of family that we haven't seen for a while. We then drove back to Salt Lake and stayed at Anna's brother's again. The next morning we had a little birthday party for Lillie with a bunch of her cousins. Those pictures will come later, since Lillie's birthday isn't really until tomorrow, the 1st. We came home on Friday afternoon and Lillie slept most of the way home on the plane. Not a bad trip.
