One of Mike's days off in February we decided to head to the new Martin Luther King Jr. memorial. It is a beautiful memorial and very well done. The kids had a lot of fun climbing the Cherry Blossom trees all around the area too. I was a little nervous, but dad kept encouraging, so what could I do? :) It gave them a beautiful view over the Potomac River.
We also went to the sculpture garden and the Smithsonian castle that same day but we don't have any pictures.
Just a fun FYI we also ran out of snacks while we were up in DC that day and ended up buying our first meal from a vendor on the street. It is not cheap so $3.50 for a little hot-dog but at least that is one thing we will be able to say we did while leaving here.
